Horse Show Photography and Special Events

Heather is available to shoot a limited number of equine events. Book early to reserve the date. With a background in dressage and many years on a breeding farm, Heather is practiced in getting images that are beautiful, well-timed and show your horse's athletic abilities.

Sales Horses

With extensive experience in marketing equines, Heather can provide you with high quality images of your horse for sale, adding impact and appeal to your online or print advertising. Photos are the number one attention-grabber in equine advertising and with the current economic environment, it is more important than ever to use stand-out photos in your advertisements. Use a conformation shot to show your horse's strong points. A liberty shot can show your horse's beauty and natural moving ability. An under saddle image will show prospective buyers the possibilities of having your horse in their barn. Head studies highlight your horse's expression and personality, creating an instant connection with buyers.

Farm Shoot

With both creative and beautiful images, a personal farm shoot will leave you with treasured keepsakes of you and your equine partner. A farm shoot can also makes a wonderful gift for an equine enthusiast. With semi-posed and candid shots, you will get images that show the emotional connection between you and your equine partner. For those that want images of only their equines, Heather can take a variety of different shots depending on your individual wants and needs.

Personalized shoots include a pre-shoot consultation via phone or in person. For the best results, you and Heather will discuss your personal expectations and potential use of the photos. This will insure that we are all “shooting” for the same goal. For a large number of horses, a qualified assistant will be on hand to help in getting the best results of your photo shoot. Your images will be posted in an online photo gallery that can be password protected. Here you can easily order images and prints and pay securely through PayPal.

It is easy to set up your own personal photo shoot for your equine partner or sales horses. For 2 or more horses, Heather will come out to your location for $75 per horse. This fee includes 2 low-resolution digital images and a 5x7 print of one of those images, and you will be able to purchase additional photos directly from the website, www.heatherbuttrum.com. This price is valid for customers within 50 miles of Buckeye, Arizona. For locations outside this area, additional fees including travel and lodging expenses may apply. You will receive a 20% discount if you order images within 30 days from the date your personal gallery is posted.

Your photographs can be delivered in a number of formats at affordable prices, including high-quality photographic prints, digital images, and keepsake items.

Images posted in the galleries are generally posted straight out of the camera, resized for the web. Once you purchase an image for either print or digital use, the image is carefully edited using custom rotating, cropping and color correction.

Photographic Prints:

Prints are made by the best professional labs using high quality photo paper. The resulting photos are chemically processed photographs and not simply images printed on an inkjet printer. The result is a higher quality, longer lasting image. After the images are received from the lab, they are carefully inspected and mailed to you in professional, protective packaging. You will receive your prints within 2-3 weeks of ordering them.

Digital Images:

Low-resolution (400 x 600 pixels, 72dpi) digital images are included with the purchase of any 5 x7 or larger print, free of charge. They can also be purchased separately if you have no need for a print. These images can be used on the internet for emailing, posting to your personal pages (Facebook, MySpace, etc.), personal websites, and even horse sale sites. All other rights to the image file, including copyright, are retained by Heather Buttrum Photography. Photo credit must be given to Heather Buttrum.

High-resolution (2700 x 3600 pixels, 300dpi) digital files can be purchased and used for such things as print advertising, magazine publications, press releases and other marketing media. In all cases, appropriate photo credit must be given to Heather Buttrum. The images may not be altered or sold without express written permission from the photographer.

Sizes range from 8 x 10 to 20 x 30 and come in a variety of mounting options from masonite to gallery wrap canvases.
